My ESP is still off target

For one of my earlier posts, Raghu had sent me a list of psychiatrists, thereby indicating that I needed some help. But today, there was an article in the Times of India on practically the same topic.
And earlier this week, on Wednesday, I'd asked my friend Raji (who was leaving later than usual) if she would come by train. She agreed, but then I asked her to proceed by bus since something had come up. But I was able to finish the task on time and since her bus had not yet left, I asked her if she would still be interested in the train. She refused and went ahead by bus. However, there was a big traffic jam along her route and in effect she was late in reaching home. Normally, I wouldn't have asked her if she wanted to come by train and definitely not twice. Perhaps it meant that I had some kind of premonition that there would be some delay if she went by bus.
So, I think I am really having ESP at some level, as mentioned in another earlier post of mine. Just that, even after one year, it hasn't really improved!

I see my DOB numbers everywhere

I don't know what kind of phenomenon this is classified as, but somehow, I always tend to spot the numbers in my Date of Birth, at many different places.

Let me clarify. Sometimes while I am watching TV in the night, I suddenly get this inclination to check the time. I use the program scanning option in my Tata Sky and at least some 4 out of 10 times, I see the time as 10:29.

This is not just at nights. Sometimes in the office, when I check my watch, I end up seeing 10:29 quite often.

Similarly, 2 days back, I went by car to the office. Just before starting the car, I checked the odometer (not something I do that often) and lo, this is what I saw:

Is it a case of being able to relate to certain familiar numbers or patterns or is it a simple case of an underlying self-centered obsession manifesting itself at the slightest chance?

Either my ESP is off-time or the mobile network is slow

Like all of you, I too have a cell phone. At home or office, I usually place it within my arm's reach.

Sometimes, one does have to move away from the cell phone for various reasons - like going to the rest room (you are aware of my hatred to use the phone while in the loo right?) or a quick discussion with the team a few cubicles away from mine, or at home, going to a different room for some odd job and then coming back.. etc. etc.

So what I am coming to is that, whenever I am separated from the cell phone and am reunited after that short gap, I check for messages or missed calls. Not that I check for these things always, probably I check it like 7 out of 10 times.

There may or may not be such missed calls or smses. But 3 or 4 times (of the 7 out of 10 times that I check), I usually get an sms the instant I place the phone back in its pouch or on the holder.

I barely ever recollect having looked for these missed calls or smses and having one land right away. Its always been a case of these things coming in, some 10-15 seconds after I've checked.

So either my ESP needs some refining or if there is nothing wrong with it, then the mobile phone network better speed up its service!
