Judge Jawaman

I have obviously not become a judge in a Court of Law nor am I suggesting that I have aspirations to become one. I only wanted to share with you my experiences as a Judge in a Talent competition along the lines of American Idol and its numerous clones across the world.

The business unit I belong to in my office, recently held celebrations for reaching an employee strength of 10000. As part of these celebrations, the aforementioned Talent competition was also held. But when the event was about to start, the organizers realized that they fell short by 2 judges in a panel of 3. They were able to rope in one and this person (my ex-boss) goaded me into filling out the remaining vacancy.

I resisted the option of becoming a Judge and that too in a talent competition, but then I quickly realized that the chances of me ever donning that role again were lower than that of Raul Vinci

But for the wood ant, masonry could have been my backup profession

The wood ants (I couldn't think of a better English equivalent for katta erumbu) are causing some trouble at home. The ground floor basically. They have made apartment complexes inside
the door frame of one of the bathrooms.
So my mother ordered me to patch up the opening with cement and mud. This is the first time that I am doing such things. And for a first timer, the results were pretty decent. There were two spots to patch up and I did both.
I felt happy that I had done a good job of patching up the entrances. So I promptly took the first picture of one of the patches.
My mom was all gaga over what a natural talent I possess and how helpful I am and all that ok. 99% of it was simply to pacify me and I am well aware of it.
But anyways, I went to check up the place after an hour. And what did I see - the second picture. The first patch looked hale and healthy.
But in the the second patch, I think there must have been some mother ant that ordered its son ant to go and make a hole in the new patch and this son ant duly compiled to her orders. Any resemblance to the actions of any other mother and son in this posting is unintentional.
And so my plans to have masonry as my backup profession have now been put in the backburner along with car driver, kuppai porukkar, departmental store salesperson, tea shop owner, photocopy shop owner etc.
