Something happened at work, last Thursday, that gave a whole new outlook to my worth at work.
In the office closer to my place, I am, in theory, only a visitor. So, I don't get to choose a desk for myself and my department folks have been kind enough to give me an independent cubicle. But this cubicle, is a corner one and unfortunately, one of the wings of the corner is the main aisle in that area.
The picture here shows you the cubicle and the pillar you see on the left is the only thing that ensures that people don't simply walk into my cubicle. Or so I thought, till Thursday afternoon.
I was in my post-lunch near meditative state
, when I suddenly felt some movement on my left side. I glanced in that direction and found that a lady had walked into my cubicle. In fact, she was almost at the end of the cubicle and that's when I realized that she was dropping something in the red dustbin you see in the picture!
And she simply walked out. While I am happy that she didn't disturb me for this activity, I still feel offended that she just walked in to where I was sitting, to just dump garbage. I don't know if it was the senior management sending me some kind of subtle message.
P.S.: In case you wonder if her cubicle didn't have a bin, you must be happy to know that she has turned it upside down and uses it as a footrest.

So, logically you now have a brand new red footrest. Congratulations.
