As part of my resolution to watch all Tammu movies on the big screen, I watched Kandaen Kadhalai today. And I watched it some 5 or 6 weeks after its release. Better late than never one may think. But that one person is wrong.
This movie is really awful. As bad as, I am sorry, worse than Aanandha Thaandavam. And unlike that movie, this one is difficult for even a die-hard fan of hers like yours truly.
I don't want to hurt my hands by typing a detailed review, so here are a few brief comments:
1. The people who made the movie seem to have forgotten one aspect called screenplay
2. The same folks also forgot to put an alert message that there was one song sung in a totally new language called Bhojmil. And it was sung by an exponent of that language, Udit Narayan.
3. The hero used an unbelievably bad US accent when he said words in English
4. His speech to his board members or some such motley crowd was horrible. The scene ended with members of the crowd clapping their hands. I think they did that to either muffle the swear words they were muttering under their breath or to ensure that he didn't speak anymore.
5. Jab We Met is clearly the inspiration for this movie. But did they really have to do so many scene-by-scene adaptations? Including the dialogues? Most of it felt out of place in a Tamil movie.
6. Funny man Santhanam's comedy track wasn't as great as critics and reviewers had made it out to be.
I will stop with this now. In case you have still not seen the movie, please make it a point to continue that status.
The only good part of the day was that I watched a movie with Dr.Bulb after eons. But I do feel sorry that I had to drag him to watch this ~!@#$%^&*.

I feel really sorry for you as much as i felt for myself after watching this crap. I 100% agree with all your points ...
this is not a inspiration from Jab we met but is a complete remake, in its worst form.
I hope none of the ppl involved in JAB WE MET ever get a chance to see its worst form of remake.
Everybody and everything was fake and utter nonsense.
Inspite of not having to even think a bit with his/her own brains if ppl can produce such a nonsense ... what can one say ... pity :(
Happy that something made you post a comment after a long time!
That said, I think that JWM is a bad movie by itself.
