Too many ants make me antsy

The word on the street is that I am a very sweet guy. But I think the ants have taken it quite literally!

In the last month, I see a sharp rise in the number of ants around the house. Even if one attributes it to the changing weather, I have certainly not seen so many.

My room, especially, is under heavy attack. There is a big procession along one wall. There is one on the telephone wire. There is one in the bathroom. And the worst part, some 2 weeks back, there was a huge assembly of them on my bed.

The ants in my bed is actually an interesting story. I went to sleep one night and after lying down, I felt something unusual to my left hand side - close to my elbow area. My first impression was that some mud had somehow transferred onto my bed. And being the lazy bum that I am, I simply pushed the "mud" out of my bed.

And in a matter of 15 seconds or so, I again felt some more "mud" in that area. Now, I got up to take a closer look and guess what I saw? Of course you can guess it - the title of my blog refers to ants. The paragraphs before this one also refer to ants. And even this particular story talks about ants in my bed.

So yes, you guessed it right. There was a big procession of ants on my bed. I was quite shocked and retreated to the living room and used the spare mattress to sleep. Later on, my bed was cleaned, a fort of ant-powder was put around the base and streaks of anti-ant chalk powder were also drawn all over the cot.

I have now been using my bed for the last 2 weeks with no issues - touch wood. But the ants are still going about their business in the other areas that I listed earlier.
